Lion Tennis Academy (UEN 53509297X) runs tennis classes in Singapore. This policy explains how we handle your personal data under Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA). By enquiring, booking or attending a class with us, you consent to us using your data as described here.
What we collect
- Contact details: your name, mobile number and email address, given to us when you enquire, message us or create a booking account.
- Your child's details: if you enrol a child, their name, age and class level.
- Booking records: classes you've booked or cancelled, packages and class credits, and your acceptance of our Terms & Conditions.
- Your password: stored only in scrambled (hashed) form. We can't see it.
- Payment records: the amount and a payment reference. Payments are processed by HitPay; we never see your bank or card details.
- Messages you send us on WhatsApp or by email.
- Health information you choose to share, such as an injury you tell your coach about, so we can coach you safely.
- Photos and videos taken during classes (see below).
Why we use it
- To arrange and run your classes, and to match you with the right level and coach.
- To send booking confirmations, reminders, cancellation notices and messages when a class is called off.
- To take payment and keep track of packages and credits.
- To reply to your enquiries and keep in touch about your classes.
- To keep you safe on court.
- To keep proper business, accounting and tax records.
We don't sell your personal data. We won't send you marketing messages unless you've agreed to receive them.
Photos and videos
We sometimes photograph or film classes for our Instagram and TikTok. If you'd prefer that you, or your child, not be featured, just tell us and we'll make sure of it. You can also ask us to take down a post you appear in.
Who we share it with
Only the people and services who need it to run your classes:
- Your coach sees the names and phone numbers of the students in the classes they teach.
- HitPay processes PayNow payments.
- Resend sends our booking emails.
- Contabo hosts our booking system on servers in Singapore.
- Netlify hosts this website.
- Google provides our email and scheduling calendar.
We may also disclose data where the law requires it.
Data stored outside Singapore
Some of these providers, including Resend, Netlify and Google, may store or process data outside Singapore, for example in the United States. Where that happens, we take steps to make sure your data is protected to a standard comparable to the PDPA.
Cookies and your browser
This website doesn't use advertising or analytics cookies, and doesn't track you across other sites. When you sign in to book a class, the booking page stores a sign-in key in your browser so you stay signed in; signing out or clearing your browser data removes it.
Our directions page plays videos from YouTube in its privacy-enhanced mode. YouTube receives your device's IP address so it can deliver the video.
How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as you're training with us and for as long as we need it afterwards. Payment and booking records are kept for accounting and tax purposes, usually for five years. After that, we delete or anonymise them.
How we protect it
Our website and booking system only use encrypted connections, passwords are stored in hashed form, and access to student data is limited to the people who need it.
Children
For students under 18, a parent or guardian provides their details and gives consent on their behalf.
Your choices
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you and how it has been used in the past year;
- correct anything that's wrong;
- stop using your data or close your booking account (withdrawing consent). If you do, we may no longer be able to provide classes or bookings, and we'll explain what that means before acting on it.
We'll respond as soon as we reasonably can, normally within 30 days.
